Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated R&D software engineer to design and develop medical device firmware. This role follows a hybrid work model and requires in-person work at our Maple Grove, MN office at least three days per week. Your responsibilities

Design, develop, test and support medical device firmware using C and C++. Configure and control Linux distributions for embedded systems. Document software development activities using approved procedures and standards. Perform testing (Unit, Integration and Static Analysis). Track software development efforts by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool. Analyze, evaluate and verify requirements for firmware and systems using software engineering best practices. Continuously improve processes and workflows by interfacing with peers and cross-functional groups. Directly support personnel and project activities to meet project goals and timelines. Mentor junior engineers in hardware and software engineering activities, methodologies and domain knowledge. Participate as a reviewer for design and development activities. Required qualifications

4 year degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field. 6+ years of relevant work experience with BS. 4+ years of relevant work experience with MS. Expert level experience with Linux distribution control for embedded systems. Experience with the documentation process within regulated industries. Experience developing or testing firmware within regulated industries. Experience leading or working in software development teams using Agile methodologies. Experience in embedded systems development using C and C++. Experience reading and understanding component datasheets and electrical schematics. Experience working on projects involving multi-functional engineering teams. Preferred qualifications

Experience with Class II or Class III medical device software. Experience with the Atlassian Tool Chain. Experience developing and maintaining real-time C/C++ applications and drivers. Experience developing, modifying, and maintaining Linux kernel drivers. Experience with open source development platforms, gcc, make, shell-script, etc. Experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Experience debugging custom circuitry at the component level. Capable of leading people or projects to deliver solutions. Requisition ID:

Minimum $82,600; Maximum $156,900 The anticipated compensation and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific vary based on location and other factors. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes consideration of licensure and certifications as applicable. Boston Scientific is not typical in hiring near the bottom or top of the listed salary range. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may include variable compensation such as overtime and shift differentials and an annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). For exempt, non-sales roles, variable compensation may include an annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
