$125,000-$1,750,000/year Role overview:

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will report to the QA Engineering Manager. You will enhance test automation across the Virtru Data Security Platform, including the TDF SDK, Key Server, and ABAC Server. This enterprise solution enables secure data management for edge devices, with a focus on privacy. As a Senior SDET, your responsibilities will include: Understand the system under test in depth Design, develop, and execute reliable and efficient automated tests for features and regression testing Analyze automated test results, identifying failures as test issues or functional defects Work closely with product and engineering teams to identify issues, investigate root causes, and propose solutions Support a collaborative environment by giving and receiving constructive feedback Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, proactively sharing insights and soliciting feedback Participate in planning and estimation, questioning work that lacks value for the engineering team Manage risks, uncertainty, and maintain accountability, even in high-pressure situations Continuously learn and adapt to fast-changing environments Support and contribute to an inclusive and growth-focused team culture Skills that will help you thrive in this role: Experience: 5–8 years testing applications deployed in production Automation Expertise: Functional, performance, accessibility, and security testing, including test case development and execution Desktop Application Testing: Automated testing for desktop apps, particularly on Windows Tech Stack: Go, Java, C++, C# on GCP and Microsoft platforms Testing Frameworks: Unit, API, and Web UI tests using Playwright API & CLI Testing: REST API and CLI testing Infrastructure & Deployment: IaC concepts; familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and cloud environments Virtru qualities for success: Thinking outside the box to respectfully challenge teammates in pursuit of excellence Strong sense of urgency with an action-oriented mindset Ability to collaborate and adapt to shifting priorities Comfort with asynchronous communication (Slack, email, Zoom, etc.) Virtru emphasizes wellbeing with a holistic program covering Occupational, Mental, Social, Physical, and Environmental Wellness, including benefits such as: Flexible PTO and 14 holidays $1,500 annual Learning & Development stipend Frequent team celebrations Employee Assistance Program Headspace access for mental health 3% retirement contribution Flexible time for personal needs DE&I and equal opportunity Virtru values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
