Overview
Commerce, Data & Identity (CDI) provides the core product management functions for areas crucial to Disney’s media businesses. These include initiatives and products that power digital commerce, identity, and growth, as well as those that reach uniquely across The Walt Disney Company enterprise, such as messaging and privacy, among others. Additionally, it is responsible for the data engineering, science, and products for Disney Entertainment & ESPN, along with their interconnection with other parts of The Walt Disney Company. Responsibilities
Support the execution of operational processes critical to Data Governance, Privacy, and Compliance, including audit readiness, policy implementation, regulatory alignment, and stewardship coordination. Assist in managing workflows tied to data classification, retention, access, and usage, ensuring alignment with internal data governance policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, etc). Serve as a liaison between Governance, Legal, Privacy, and Engineering teams to help implement scalable and repeatable compliance controls across data platforms. Document and maintain standard operating procedures, governance playbooks, and recurring compliance reporting deliverables to improve transparency and continuity. Coordinate issue tracking, control remediation, and regulatory obligations across governed environments including Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS. Partner with platform and regional teams to operationalize metadata requirements, align data use with approved classifications, and escalate inconsistencies. Monitor and report on governance KPIs and metrics to track adherence to policies, audit findings, and ongoing compliance program maturity. Support onboarding and enablement of governance tooling (e.g., metadata catalog, access controls, consent frameworks), including training documentation and stakeholder communications. Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes and improve automation across governance and compliance workflows. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Policy, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in data governance, compliance, or privacy operations. 5+ years of experience in operational data governance, regulatory compliance, or privacy program support within a complex, cross functional environment. Understanding of core data governance disciplines such as metadata management, data classification, stewardship, retention, and access controls. Familiarity with privacy regulations and frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, COPPA) and their application to operational processes and tooling. Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent initiatives, deliver against deadlines, and communicate effectively across stakeholder groups. Strong organizational, documentation, and reporting skills; ability to standardize and structure operational workflows. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Data Governance platforms such as Alation, Collibra, Immuta, or comparable tools. Hands on familiarity with data environments like Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS. Exposure to audit processes, SOX/ITGC controls, and control remediation workflows. Experience supporting or building privacy operations or data compliance programs. Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or scripting to support basic data validation or reporting tasks. Experience using tools like Smartsheet, Confluence, Jira, Tableau, or Looker to manage and report on operational activities. Additional Information

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $114,900.00 - $154,100.00 per year and in Seattle, WA is $120,300.00 - $161,300.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
