Overview
Kernodle Clinic, an affiliate of Duke Health Integrated Practice, seeks a BC/BE fellowship-trained Orthopaedic General Surgeon/Trauma Surgeon to join our community-based practice with locations in Burlington, Elon and Mebane, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will be patient-centered, community-focused, and able to provide general orthopedics coverage for both pediatrics and adults.
About the Practice Kernodle Clinic is Duke’s largest community-based multi-specialty practice with 102 providers in 16 medical and surgical specialties and a strong relationship with Alamance Regional Medical Center (ARMC), part of the Cone Health System. Orthopedics procedures are performed at two ARMC locations: the main hospital in Burlington and an outpatient surgery center in Mebane. The Orthopedics Department consists of five orthopedic surgeons, one Family Practice Sports Medicine physician, and five physician assistants. The department handles a busy patient load, providing 20,000+ office encounters and 1,500 surgical procedures per year.
Responsibilities
Provide general orthopedics coverage for both pediatric and adult patients.
Maintain a typical schedule of two days in surgery and three days in the office per week.
Participate in hospital ER call with current rotation at 1:6, to remain 1:6 with the incoming physician.
Provide office call as secondary support to Advanced Practice Providers at 1:5, to be 1:6 with the incoming physician.
Collaborate with a team including Receptionists, Surgical Schedulers, RNs, LPNs, and Certified Medical Assistants across Burlington and Mebane Medical Campuses.
Contribute to maintaining the strong reputation and busy practice established by Kernodle Orthopedics.
Qualifications
Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery.
Fellowship-trained in Orthopaedic General Surgery or Trauma Surgery.
Ability to provide comprehensive orthopedic care for both pediatric and adult patients.
