Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and visionary Lead Director to spearhead the development and implementation of interoperability solutions within our healthcare technology ecosystem. This role will lead a cross-functional team focused on enabling seamless data exchange across healthcare systems using industry standards such as FHIR/HL7, and will implement use cases to support internal data utilization. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and deployment of interoperability solutions across healthcare platforms, collaborating with clinical, operational, and vendor stakeholders
Collaborate with leadership to define engineering strategy and roadmap aligned with organizational goals
Provide technical leadership and expertise in defining architecture and design principles for solutions
Oversee and manage engineering projects and programs, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline
Stay current with emerging technologies and standards in healthcare IT; evaluate and adopt new technologies to enhance existing and new capabilities.
Drive innovation initiatives within engineering, promoting a culture of creativity, experimentation, and continuous learning
Ensure adherence to coding standards, software development methodologies, and testing practices to deliver high-quality solutions
Contribute to long-term planning, technology adoption strategies, and innovation initiatives
Provide regular leadership updates, demos, and written communications
Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical professionals, fostering their success and professional growth
Minimum Requirements
10+ years of experience in Information Technology
5+ years of experience in Healthcare
2+ years of experience with web services (RESTful APIs) and related technologies such as XML, XSLT, and schemas
Experience building applications using cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
Proven execution and delivery capabilities (planning, implementation, support)
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Demonstrated growth mindset with agility and commitment to personal and team development
Preferred Requirements
Experience and knowledge in healthcare interoperability (FHIR, HL7, CCD, CDA, etc.)
Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., EPIC, Athena)
Knowledge of technologies such as Kubernetes, Apigee, GCP-GKE, Dataflow, Airflow, MongoDB, SQL, PostgreSQL, SOAP services, IntelliJ, and DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
Experience developing integrations using Java, Spring Boot microservices, and Kubernetes
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience) Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is: $144,200.00 - $288,400.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
