is seeking a
Locum Cardiac Anesthesiologist
to assist with ongoing coverage needs throughout 2025. This facility is a Trauma Level II center with an active surgical schedule and a supportive anesthesia team. Assignment Dates: Weeks beginning in May, June, July & more this year Opportunity Highlights: Mix of cardiac and general anesthesia – approximately 1 heart case/day (not every day), with 5–7 general cases/day 6 anesthesiologists in group practice Predominantly solo cases; occasional supervision of CRNA students On rare occasions, may need to oversee CRNAs at a nearby ASC if no cardiac cases are scheduled EMR: Cerner (transitioning to EPIC); some paper charting 8 ORs in use concurrently Patients range from adolescent to geriatric; very sick pediatric patients referred elsewhere Estimated credentialing time: 8–12 weeks Requirements: Board Certified Anesthesiologist Cardiac anesthesia experience required Comfort with both cardiac and general cases Willingness to work alongside CRNA students About the Program:
This cardiac program is on a trajectory for growth and stabilization with the recent signing of a long-term cardiac surgeon. Projected to perform approximately 90 open-heart surgeries this year, the facility offers a collaborative environment and an excellent opportunity for locum providers to support a rebuilding cardiac team.
