Black & Veatch’s Governments & Communities team focuses on infrastructure needs of municipalities and government clients. Our Industrial Water solution delivers lifecycle water, wastewater, and stormwater projects for heavy commercial and industrial clients, balancing cost, sustainability, regulatory compliance, and community relations. Sample project reference: Data Center Owner Overcomes Complex Water Challenges and Achieves Sustainability Goals. Key Responsibilities
Business development : Leading team marketing efforts, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal preparation, client presentations, project budgeting and contracting for opportunities; accountable for new business objectives and overall project performance. Project management : Interact with assigned clients, promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities; support development of market plans, strategies, and client engagement; leverage resources to advance market footprint. Project execution : Oversight of engineering manager(s); develop project performance goals; ensure accountability for implementation; actively involve internal project team and owner representatives; perform or assist budgeting, invoicing, and payments; lead project performance reviews. Staff management : Team development, mentoring, coaching, training recommendations, promotion identification and development of new candidates. Management responsibilities : Acts as a project manager; manages a project team whose size varies by project. Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
20+ years of active water/wastewater experience with leadership in the industrial sector Professional Engineer license; Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline Understanding of budgets and financial metrics Contract negotiation skills, including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records) as applicable by law. Certifications
