Overview
Construction Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager
Location: Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA
CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years of experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers. This role is to join our team on USACE project work located at JBLM. Due to the nature of our work with the federal government, candidates must be a US Citizen.
Responsibilities
Cultivate and maintain effective relations with the Client, project team, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel
Support the Project Manager with developing the budget, schedule, and construction service plans for various elements of the project
Work closely with PM and Superintendent to identify and allocate resources, including personnel and materials
Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance with respect to timeliness, efficiency, and quality
Participate in and monitor the procurement process, cost control, and change management systems
Uphold the core safety values of the company and collaborate with the EH&S Director to effectively communicate and enforce safety standards
Participate in pre-construction meetings, schedule meetings, design reviews, and project kickoff meetings to provide input on quality control requirements and expectations
Submittal creation and tracking
Develop, schedule, and implement procedures for tracking control phase meetings required for the three-phase control system
Review project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field required (or equivalent related work experience)
Five (5) years’ experience as an Assistant Project Manager or QC Construction Manager
Two to four (2-4) years of experience with building construction, materials, systems, field work or similar
OSHA 30 certification
EM 385-1-1 Training
Previous experience with USACE or federal government construction projects
Current USACE CQM training and certification or ability to obtain
Detail oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills
Organized, problem-solver with ability to multitask
Proficiency with MS Office and other Microsoft Office products
Excellent analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
Work Authorization & Security
You must be a US citizen
Ability to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance
Valid driver’s license with a record that meets CLP Fleet Policy
