Senior Platform Applications Scientist Reports to: VP, Translational Research FLSA: Exempt Location: San Mateo/San Diego Position Summary: At ClearNote Health, we combine novel epigenomic technologies with our innovative machine learning architecture to tackle the most urgent challenges in cancer care. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced scientist with a passion to join our mission to develop next-generation non-invasive cancer diagnostics for better patient outcomes. You will design and manage multidisciplinary projects that employ the company’s platform technologies in drug development and collaborate with pharma partners to address clinical questions in cancer care. Responsibilities

Lead relationships with external collaborators and pharma partners to drive projects from inception to completion. Lead and manage research projects with pharma partners that address fundamental questions using our platform technology in diagnostic and therapeutic areas in oncology. Ensure high data quality and the requisite scientific background to navigate experimental design and interpretation. Build a continually expanding knowledge base in cancer biology, biomarker discovery and development. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (laboratory scientists, data scientists, bioinformaticians, commercial and marketing) to maximize contributions of team members. Ability to manage cross-functional projects and timelines. Support, nurture, and help close sales opportunities. Role requires 10% travel. M.D./Ph.D. or Ph.D. in Oncology, Cancer Biology, Epigenetics and Genomics or related field with 6+ years of relevant industry experience (3–6 years in industry). Experience in leading and working in teams with a history of successful project management. Experience in oncology biology, genomics and epigenomics with publications and presentations at international conferences. Understanding of existing large datasets and modern cancer genomics tools; proficiency in R or Python is a plus. Experience in biomarker development or molecular diagnostics in industry is strongly preferred. Experience with experimental design in population-based clinical studies. Understanding of NGS experimental limitations in cancer applications. Demonstrated ability to apply skills to uncover new biological insights. Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, written and spoken communication skills. Compensation and Benefits: Individual compensation is determined based on job-relevant skills, expertise, experience, education or training, and geographic location. Typical salary range for this position is $126,000–$164,000 for candidates based in the San Francisco or San Diego metro areas. Exceptions may occur based on depth of technical experience and other qualifications. We offer generous benefits including stock options.
