Scoopers create happiness through moments of wonder by offering unparalleled guest experiences. They guide guests on taste adventures, sample and scoop ice cream, and narrate the journey to create OMG moments. Scoopers foster a welcoming environment and contribute to Salt & Straw’s hospitality and community presence. Essential Functions
Interact with guests in a welcoming and engaging manner from arrival to checkout. Develop a strong understanding of Salt & Straw’s brand, production techniques, ingredient partnerships, and flavor profiles to educate guests and provide recommendations. Scoop to shop standards, often in shift intervals of 1-2 hours. Process transactions using the POS system, handle cash, and provide correct change. Prepare, label, and store waffle batter; operate the waffle iron to make cones; maintain a clean front-of-house waffle station. Adhere to shop, food quality, and safety standards; perform cleaning and organization duties. Restock products and supplies as needed; manage inventory at the front of house. Pack Third-Party Delivery orders according to company standards. Answer phones and respond to guest inquiries. Greet guests, manage line flow, explain shop options, and promote online ordering and pint purchases. Taste/sample ice cream to help communicate flavor appeal to customers. Qualifications
To perform the job successfully, applicants should have the following qualifications: Valid food handler’s card (required within 30 days of start or per local requirements). Experience in food service, fast-casual dining, or hospitality preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to learn and discuss classic and seasonal flavors and provide samples comfortably. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to hospitality. Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences. Ability to work with diverse teams and customers, and to adapt under pressure in a fast-paced environment. English fluency; ability to work evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays; at least 3 shifts per week including 2 closing shifts. Benefits & Perks
