Our client, a global law firm, is seeking a Patent Agent with a background in the Biological Sciences. Location and Schedule
Hybrid schedule 2/3 in one of the following offices: Atlanta, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, or Washington, D.C. Billable hours: 1,500 per year. Salary: $160,000.00–$270,000.00 per year. Responsibilities
Draft patent applications and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Analyze scientific or technical documents, including previously published patent documents, to assess an invention or issued patent. Draft detailed descriptions of inventions in precise legal terms (patent drafts), which form the basis for patents to be granted by patent offices in various parts of the world. Conduct interviews with examiners at the USPTO. Keep up to date with legal developments in the intellectual property field. Work closely with lawyers to support patent litigation, perform due diligence, and support other legal activities. Qualifications
Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biotechnology, bioengineering, biochemistry, immunology, genetics, or an equivalent discipline. 4+ years of patent prosecution experience. Law firm experience is preferred. Must be admitted to the USPTO. Job Function
