The candidate will support the client for the design, development, and life cycle support of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems and components. The focus is to support high energy storage systems requirements, design and development oversight, certification, and life cycle support; and to support efforts to evaluate, maintain and manage electric power technical records/requirements in accordance with the Defense Standardization Program. Services and products include generating and contributing to reports and technical documents, communicating engineering plans/requirements, compiling and tracking action items, developing presentations, facilitating technical meetings, and producing related records and ad hoc consulting. Responsibilities
Overall planning, direction, prioritization and delivery of all projects in alignment with the client’s expectations and business needs. Ensure ongoing process/system capabilities meet project needs and desired results. Manage changes required to meet or exceed project design expectations. May be responsible for Project Management Office (PMO) activities such as methodology development, project quality assurance and competency development. Demonstrate deep understanding of their subject area and a broad understanding of related subjects. Handle diverse issues and lead projects contributing to the company's success. Manage a broad, complex portfolio of projects with large, globally dispersed teams. Define program value proposition, work plan, resource needs, timeline, and budget for global programs. Serve as an internal project management expert and monitor project performance in the Project Reporting System. Conduct PM Metrics and Practices Reviews and facilitate Peer Project Reviews and Management Project reviews. Support PM Help Desk as needed. Basic Qualifications
US Citizenship Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and possess an Active DoD security clearance (minimum Secret) Bachelor's degree in any technical or managerial discipline Minimum 15 years of program/project management experience to include:
US Navy and/or support to US Navy ship systems engineering or acquisition program office
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge in Navy acquisition/life cycle support processes for systems or component design, development, engineering, installation, maintenance, and/or modernization efforts with government or contractor experience in warfare/platform systems program offices or systems engineering offices/activities. Experience/understanding of US Navy technical authority processes, including certification. Familiar with shipboard HM&E systems, their operations, maintenance, and training; particularly with fleet engineering activity experience with electrical systems, batteries, and/or other high energy storage systems. Broad base understanding of engineering/technical disciplines for marine/shipboard systems. Demonstrated ability to understand complex system design and technical issues; hands-on experience with technical documentation. Excellent verbal and written communications (technical papers and naval correspondence). Strong proficiency in IT Project Management principles and techniques. Proficiency with the company’s project management information system tools. Ability to identify, develop and quantify corrective action plans; ensure effective project controls and performance reporting for client and company. Excellent facilitation and communication skills; ability to lead global project teams of large scope and high complexity. Ability to perform general office duties and work with or without reasonable accommodations. Significant travel, including overnight domestic or international trips, may be required.
