Overview

Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a full-time Resource Manager to provide effective resource and staffing management support for our attorneys in the Americas region. Day-to-day responsibilities will center on supporting the strategic allocation of work and deployment of our attorneys, helping to increase utilization and drive financial performance for the region, while fostering individual growth and career development. This role can be based in either New York, Washington, DC or Houston, TX and will report to the Regional Practice Associate Directors. Key responsibilities

Under the leadership of the Regional Practice Associate Directors, allocate work to attorneys within the designated practice area to ensure balanced workloads and efficient resource deployment. Partner with senior attorneys and partners in Transactional practices to assign work to junior attorneys, supporting equitable distribution and developmental opportunities. Optimize attorney deployment to support individual professional development and practice area financial performance. Identify suitable assignments for attorneys, considering their skills, development goals, and preferences where possible. Provide support and advice to attorneys with regards to career development, experience and interest alignment and ensure this data is captured centrally and regularly maintained to support work allocation. Identify and implement practical solutions to alleviate over/under capacity, including cross-jurisdictional sharing of resources. Take ownership of the work assignment tools maintaining data integrity and accuracy. Provide utilization forecasts and resource planning insights to the Practice Area Management team and Regional Practice Area Leaders as and when needed. Ensure paid time off, holidays, investment time and non-billable commitments are incorporated into planning. Gather feedback during the work allocation process and relay relevant performance insights to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and Regional Practice Associate Directors. Analyze and highlight trends or patterns that indicate potential resourcing issues or capacity constraints. Conduct regular check-ins with attorneys to review their schedules, utilization levels, and areas of interest or development. Prepare and distribute monthly resourcing reports to assess workflow capacity and identify potential resource risks or opportunities. Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to understand resourcing needs and support with proposing effective resourcing solutions. Identify attorneys that are interested in client or firm secondments and provide support in coordinating secondment opportunities. Liaise with other Business Professional (BP) departments as needed to ensure alignment across firm operations. Support and contribute to various ad hoc assignments and strategic projects as required. Qualifications

4+ years of relevant work experience in work allocation and staffing from a law firm, professional or financial services firm and/or corporate environment preferred. Bachelor's degree required. Excellent client service and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in resource deployment. Strong judgment and decision-making ability. Proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude. Ability to work in a fast-paced and growing environment; self-starter with a proactive demeanor. Ability to work under pressure and multi-task, prioritizing competing demands. Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with all levels within the organization. Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Must adhere to the Firm's Agile Working Policy (office presence two or three days each calendar week). Ability to work outside core business hours as needed. Must be independently and legally authorized to work in the United States. Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $100,000-$130,000. The actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience. Equal Opportunities
