Overview
Director of Donor Relations at Tabor Academy: The Director of Donor Relations position supports the mission of Tabor Academy by being an integral part of the Advancement Office, which manages the philanthropic relationship between Tabor Academy and all its constituencies. The position is responsible for the ongoing philanthropic education, cultivation, and stewardship of those most capable of supporting the Academy. The Director of Donor Relations designs, implements, and coordinates a comprehensive cultivation, stewardship, and donor relations system that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels. This is a full-time exempt staff position, and housing is not included. Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Design, enhance, and expand through strategic direction and an annual operating plan for programmatic cultivation and stewardship of donors Devise and orchestrate collateral, programs, and events to cultivate and steward leadership and legacy giving donors Coordinate thank you notes from student recipients of scholarships and other donor funded awards Work closely with the Office of Admissions to ensure that scholarship funds are assigned in accordance with the donor’s intent as indicated in the Deed of Gift Manage stewardship plans for annual and campaign-related giving societies, including donor recognition/stewardship events, plaques and recognition gifts Manage annual endowed fund stewardship reporting through our Fundriver endowment management system Partner with portfolio managers in devising and delivering personalized cultivation and stewardship to donors and prospective donors Work closely with other members of the Advancement Office to support activities of alumni programs, parent programs, and leadership and legacy giving to determine the best strategies for effective stewardship of donors Work with the Director of Advancement to develop and manage a system of tracking naming opportunities within the existing fundraising priorities Continually monitor school events, newspapers and social media for opportunities to connect donors and prospective donors to the areas of impact from their generosity or potential support Manage all aspects of the biannual Circle of Excellence alumni awards and Athletic Hall of Fame, including but not limited to the management of these events, working with committees, and all logistics involved in the awarding of these honors Continually monitor the efficacy of the gift acknowledgement and pledge process Manage the Head of School, Board of Trustees Chair, and various Board of Trustee members in their individual stewardship outreach to leadership donors Attend and assist with implementation of Academy functions, including but not limited to regional gatherings, volunteer events, reunions and other events as assigned Manage a portfolio of 50 donors and prospective donors Other duties as assigned Required Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s Degree 4-6 years of experience in fundraising, volunteer management, and/or donor relations Commitment to embracing the mission of Tabor Academy Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient with Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Teams, and other related software Ability to manage and secure highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion Ability to travel and work nights and weekends Required Qualifications (Continued)
