Associate Director of Academic Operations, Georgetown University Medical Center Georgetown University comprises two unique campuses in the nation's capital. Overview Reporting to the Chair of Pharmacology & Physiology, the Associate Director for Academic Operations in the Department of Pharmacology & Physiology, School of Medicine - Georgetown University supports the three degree granting programs (MS in Pharmacology, MS in Physiology, PhD in Pharmacology & Physiology), an NIGMS-funded T32 training grant, and the academic administrative functions supporting 25 faculty members and ~90 full time and ~40 part time students. Additional duties include but are not limited to:

Serves as the point-of-contact for Academic Affairs for three graduate programs and for faculty

Serves as the point-of-contact for graduate admissions for three graduate programs

Supports the Chair of the Department in department academic operations

Supports the Chair of the Department in department academic operations (as noted above)

Work Interactions The Associate Director works directly with the Department Chair, providing all administrative support. The position interacts with Directors of the MS in Pharmacology, MS in Physiology, and PhD in Pharmacology & Physiology programs in student services and graduate program management. The AD also interacts with Faculty, Staff, and Students regarding University policies and procedures. It collaborates with the Senior Financial Administrator, BGRO Administrators, Accounts Payable, HR, Purchasing and Contracts, and the Asset Management Office. The AD will collaborate with career development, student, and postdoctoral affairs functions within the Graduate and Postdoctoral Training and Development Division of Biomedical Graduate Education to integrate graduate requirements into institution-level support services and activities. The AD works closely with Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) offices (admissions, academic affairs, student services, recruitment, career strategy, and communications), the Office of the University Registrar, and the Office of Global Services for day-to-day administration of the programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

Five years of administrative work experience

Two years of program management experience

Keen attention to detail

Working knowledge of Workday/GMS, Wordpress

A collaborative and transparent work style, cultural awareness and agility

Experience working with faculty, student, and trainee populations, as well as with invited speakers and donors

Demonstrated ability to work productively independently and as part of a team

Pay Range The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $54,616.00 - $100,493.33. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
