The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS), often called the Portsmouth Navy Yard, is a United States Navy shipyard on Seavey's Island in Kittery, Maine, bordering Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The naval yard lies along the southern boundary of Maine on the Piscataqua River. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) employs a civilian workforce of professionals to safely overhaul, repair, and modernize the U.S. Navy's nuclear-powered attack submarine fleet, specifically Los Angeles and Virginia-class submarines. We provide quality overhaul work in a safe, timely, and affordable manner. This includes a full spectrum of in-house support—from engineering services and production shops, to unique capabilities and facilities, to off-site support—all of which serves the multifaceted assortment of fleet requirements. Founded on June 12, 1800, PNS is the U.S. Navy\'s oldest continuously operating shipyard. Today, most of its work concerns the overhaul, repair, and modernization of submarines. As of November 2021, the shipyard employed more than 6,500 federal employees. Provide first contact, continuous, comprehensive primary care for infants, children, youth, and adults. Formulate full treatment plans based on evaluation and diagnoses consistent with current and/or evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Perform emergency services or crisis intervention, including life-saving emergency procedures when necessary. Promote preventative and health maintenance care, stresses positive health behaviors and self-care through education and counseling. Participate in Quality Assurance functions, performance improvement programs, risk management programs, and peer review programs. Performs Other Duties as Assigned Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Physician (Family Practice): Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by recognized bodies. A foreign medical degree may require certification by the ECFMG or other pathways as defined. Licensure:

Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state or territory. Graduate Training:

After obtaining a MD/DO degree, at least one year of supervised clinical experience (internship or first year of residency). Residency Training:

Must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in Family Medicine or equivalent, and at least 4 years of related experience.
