Responsibilities
Executive Director (RN) in Hospice supervises all aspects of patient care, activities of professional staff and allied health personnel, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and quality assurance/performance improvement activities for the agency. The Executive Director or alternate will be available on-site during business hours and, if needed, beyond.
Ensure compliance with all regulations, laws, policies, and procedures applicable to hospice and Medicare/Medicaid issues when applicable daily.
Be on-site during business hours or immediately available by telephone when off-site; be available after hours as needed (Alternate Designee as applicable).
Direct daily operations of the agency and act as the Care Management Process driver, receiving daily patient reports from staff; review patient care paperwork, referral information, recertification processes, discharge information, and event reporting.
Review monthly financial results to ensure quality patient care is delivered in a cost-effective manner.
Participate in QAPI planning, reporting, and improvement action plans, including chart audits, patient satisfaction, financials, contracts, and patient/family complaints, with appropriate follow-up.
Education and Experience
Must be a licensed physician; licensed registered nurse; licensed social worker; or a Bachelor's degree with at least three (3) years of documented success in the discipline/field and a minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience in a hospice, home health, or other health care delivery system setting.
Three (3) years of health care leadership preferred.
Current CPR certification required for Executive Directors who may provide services to patients in the field.
Current Driver's License and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
