Psychiatry - Addiction Physician at Clinity Talent summary : The Medical Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for the strategic oversight of psychiatric services, focusing on advancing health equity among marginalized communities. This role involves performing psychiatric evaluations, formulating treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-based psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic techniques. Additionally, the Medical Director trains staff, oversees behavioral health personnel recruitment, and develops community engagement strategies to enhance mental health awareness. The Medical Director of Behavioral Health (Psychiatrist) holds the responsibility for the comprehensive oversight and strategic direction of the Behavioral Health Service. This role involves conducting psychiatric evaluations through a biopsychosocial lens that incorporates cultural humility and structural competency, aimed at formulating treatment strategies that advance health equity for communities that have been historically marginalized and oppressed. Furthermore, the Medical Director will implement evidence-based psychopharmacological management techniques and will engage in collaboration and consultation with a team comprising medical doctors, mid-level practitioners such as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, registered nurses, and mental health professionals who provide psychotherapy services to clients. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs psychiatric assessments and prepare documentation Evaluates and endorses treatment plans for all clients Suggests treatment methodologies for all patients, including evidence-based psychopharmacological methods and evidence-based psychotherapeutic techniques Facilitates psycho-pharmacological sessions with clients Records all interactions in the electronic health record Delivers in-service training Conducts mental health rounds Contributes expertise and practical knowledge to enhance an Article 31 licensed mental health program Facilitates group psychotherapy sessions with clients when feasible Leads High-Risk Rounds and proposes risk mitigation strategies for Behavioral Health Clients Participates in the IRC Oversees the recruitment and hiring of behavioral health personnel Develops Community Engagement Strategies to enhance Mental Health Awareness Provides clinical and administrative supervision to Behavioral Health Staff Reviews documentation, reports, and records produced by psychiatric staff Participates in the education and training of behavioral health trainees and interns / externs Completes performance evaluations Experience with electronic medical record system (eCW preferred, but not required) Experience in Addiction Medicine a plus Experience with HIV / AIDS and unhoused populations Spanish speaking is a plus Knowledgeable of and comfortable practicing harm reduction principles in a multi-serve community-based organization. EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Psychiatrist (MD) degree with a minimum of 5 years working directly with clients New York State license DEA registration Board Certification BLS / CPR certification A minimum of 3 years providing clinical supervision of other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, fellows, or psychiatric nurse practitioners with at least one of the years in a community setting Keywords
