Overview

IBM's Export Regulation Office is responsible for obtaining all US export authorizations necessary to deliver IBM hardware, software, technology and services worldwide to internal and external clients. We are looking for an individual with an IT or technology manufacturing background to join a team of compliance professionals responsible for establishing and enforcing corporate policy for compliance with US and non-US export regulations, trade regulations advocacy, and a management system for reviewing transactions involving potential reputational risks. Responsibilities

Engage with internal IBM business teams to achieve compliant solutions. Conduct corporate business development due diligence. Lead internal export compliance reviews. Deliver against corporate education objectives. Serve as a resource for IBM's global export compliance network and all employees on complying with export regulations. Interface with all areas of IBM's global operations (R&D, Manufacturing, Services, HR, Finance, Legal, Sales & Delivery). Qualifications

Education Required education: None Preferred education: Bachelor's Degree Required technical and professional expertise Ability to conduct comprehensive analyses, lead projects, provide training, conduct reviews, and interpret regulations. Strong IT-related background in cloud computing, AI, or programming or a manufacturing-related background with quantum computing, semiconductor manufacturing, or other microelectronics is strongly preferred. A strong IT or technology manufacturing background will be considered in lieu of regulatory experience. Preferred technical and professional experience Experience classifying hardware, software, and technology products under the U.S. Commerce Department's Export Administration Regulations (EAR), including CCL categories 3-5, and experience with cloud computing technologies. Experience managing compliance with ITAR and OFAC sanctions programs. Experience analyzing regulatory or compliance changes and assessing business and technical impacts; ability to collaborate with technical teams to interpret requirements and support implementation. 5+ years of experience in IT or related industry.
