Global Supply Manager, Indirect Sourcing (Starlink) – Redmond, WA. SpaceX is developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. Starlink seeks a Global Supply Manager to lead the Indirect Procurement Team, overseeing strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations across indirect spend categories including Capital Equipment, Services, MRO, and Fabrication. The role aims to drive cost efficiency, supplier performance, and process improvements in support of Starlink’s mission to provide high speed internet access to underserved areas of the world. RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze supplier spending and capacity to support supplier negotiation and engagement strategies Participate, support, and execute long-term agreements with strategic suppliers Lead supplier quality, development, and performance teams to execute the strategic procurement vision Serve as the go‑to resource for engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and new product introduction teams when determining best value suppliers, NPI sourcing plans, make vs. buy, should cost, buy complete strategies, and lead times Build cross-functional teams and champion continuous improvement initiatives for cost, quality, and delivery Drive design for manufacturability reviews with support from supplier quality and engineering Champion value add and value engineering projects to improve part quality and reduce cost Proactively update SpaceX management and engineering teams on critical supply issues Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships Visit supplier facilities and assess technical capability, equipment, and capacity Execute MRP planning messages for production parts Resolve purchase order discrepancies and invoice issues Analyze procurement data and report metrics Interpret contract terms and advise management on procedures and regulations affecting the contract Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and government regulations Act as liaison with external and internal customers on contractual matters Perform advanced quantitative and business process analyses to identify financial impacts of decisions, cost improvement, and performance for assigned categories Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet targets for the purchasing department, including terms, cash targets, and cost savings BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced degree and 4+ years of experience in Purchasing, Material or production planning, Operations or supply chain management, or Material cost control; OR bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in one or more of these areas; OR 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree Experience in Purchasing, Material or production planning, Operations or supply chain management, or Material cost control PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Prior direct leadership or team management experience Master’s degree or PhD 5+ years of experience on contracts or commodity spend worth at least $100 million 10+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, engineering, or production Technical procurement, manufacturing, or electronic component and board-level commodity experience Proven leadership and team-building skills Experience in production purchasing preferred Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Knowledge of MS Office, SQL, Access, etc. Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills Ability to learn quickly and prioritize to meet customer and company needs Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to respond quickly in a fast-moving environment Highest integrity in all activities Experience reading datasheets, drawings, and blueprints ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: May require irregular hours with global suppliers in different time zones Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: Global Supply Manager: $125,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year Your base salary is determined case-by-case and may vary based on job-related knowledge, education, and experience. Base salary is part of total rewards including stock options, bonuses, and other benefits.
