The Gastroenterology Technician I (GT I) performs a variety of activities that support the nursing and medical staff of the GI Lab, which includes preparing supplies, equipment, and room for procedures; handling of specimen and cleaning/disinfecting scopes and other equipment according to standards; and troubleshooting equipment appropriately. The GT I demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness. Responsibilities
Prepare supplies, equipment, and room for GI procedures. Handle specimens and clean/disinfect scopes and other equipment according to standards. Troubleshoot equipment appropriately. Demonstrate personal and professional effectiveness in support of the GI Lab team. Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Certifications: a) Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross. b) Certificate: Other certificates as required by unit/service. Work Experience:
One (1) year of patient care experience. Special Requirements Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact). Other Skills:
