Independent Contractor (1099) Duty Hours:
The Radiology Department is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Services may be required any day of the week, any time of the day. Each HCW shall normally provide services for a range from eight and a half (8.5) to twelve and a half (12.5) hours, including an uncompensated half (0.5) hour for meal break. A typical work week is five (5) days (0730-1630), including weekends and holidays. On-Call (Off Site):
The HCW shall take general radiology on call nights and weekends, including holidays, with a resident physician taking in-house call duties. The HCW shall normally provide general radiology call for up to two (2) to three (3) days per month. While on call, the HCW must respond to a page within ten (10) minutes and interpret images via Government issued laptop within thirty (30) minutes of images becoming available, or return to the hospital if the clinical need dictates. Compensation for On-Call services is separately priced. Overage Hours:
Should the HCW be required to remain on duty past their regularly scheduled shift due to patient safety or continuity of care, the HCW shall invoice for these hours on the appropriate overage SLIN. It is estimated that the HCW may be required to provide 40 overage hours per year. Responsibilities
GENERAL DUTIES: Contractor personnel shall perform a full range of duties consistent with their labor category, education, training, experience, clinical privileges, and assigned position. General duties include: Maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services. Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities. Practice aseptic techniques and comply with infection control guidelines. Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures. Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations and document events. Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program. Maintain an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice. Participate in continuing education to meet own professional growth. Attend and comply with all annual training classes required by the MTF. Actively participate in the MTF's Performance Improvement Program. Participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care. Operate and manipulate automated systems as prescribed by the MTF Director. Exercise appropriate clinical delegation of tasks and duties. Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives. Duties – Specific. The HCW shall provide services within the scope of the clinical privileges granted by the MTF Director, including: Perform interpretation of diagnostic radiology studies. Perform and interpret special radiographic studies. Perform interpretation of routine nuclear exams. Perform interpretation of ultrasound examinations. Perform interpretation of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams. Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
