Overview
We are seeking Tooling Engineers to support the design and development of tooling for aerospace manufacturing. This role involves creating robust tooling solutions that enhance production efficiency and ensure quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tooling design, particularly in the aerospace sector, and demonstrate proficiency in CAD software and GD&T principles. Key Responsibilities
Design and develop composite tooling: Layup fixtures, bond tools, assembly jigs, machining fixtures, drill jigs, and other fixtures to support aerospace manufacturing processes. Utilize CAD software (NX) to create detailed tooling designs. Create CAD drawings compliant with customer-specified formats and standards. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure precision and compliance with specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tooling solutions into the production workflow. Conduct tolerance analyses and implement design improvements to optimize manufacturability. Provide technical support during the fabrication and implementation of tooling solutions. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of tooling design experience. Experience in NX. Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in tooling design. Experience in the aerospace industry and familiarity with ITAR requirements. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment.
