Job Title: Senior UI/UX Designer
Location: Carlsbad, CA / Owings Mills, MD
Position Overview
We’re looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to lead the user experience for our connected audio products. In this role, you’ll guide the design process from concept through developer hand-off, ensuring our interfaces are intuitive, engaging, and visually compelling for a global audience. Your primary focus will be on the HEOS and Bowers Music apps, but you’ll also contribute to a wide range of products across our audio portfolio—including AVRs, Hi-Fi devices, headphones, and Bluetooth speakers. Your work will shape how users set up, interact with, and enjoy music at home and on the go.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the UI/UX design process from initial concept to developer hand-off.
Create high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes to communicate ideas effectively.
Conduct moderated and unmoderated user testing to evaluate and refine design choices.
Ensure designs meet platform-specific guidelines (Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Google Material Design).
Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and engineers.
Mentor junior designers and provide design feedback to maintain quality across the team.
Conduct design reviews and advocate for best practices in UX design.
Stay current on emerging design trends, prototyping techniques, and mobile UI patterns.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience designing consumer-facing iOS and Android applications.
Proven success delivering world-class mobile UI designs for a global user base.
Expert proficiency in Figma for design, wireframing, and collaboration.
Skilled in ProtoPie, Overflow, and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects).
Solid understanding of typography, color theory, layout principles, and interaction design.
Experience conducting both moderated and unmoderated user testing.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present design rationale to stakeholders.
Experience with audio products or connected devices is a plus.
Nice to Have
Experience designing mobile apps that connect to networked hardware.
Familiarity with creating Lottie animations using Bodymovin and After Effects.
Knowledge of accessibility guidelines for mobile platforms.
Basic understanding of front-end implementation constraints for iOS and Android platforms.
Salary Range The anticipated salary range for this position is $120k-$160k plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 3.5% PSP bonus based on company, department, and individual performance.
