Job Description Sr. Analyst, Data Scientist – Data Analysis Focus, Quality

Kite is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and resourceful Senior Analyst to support the Global Quality Organization operating out of our headquarters in Santa Monica, CA. Kite Quality is responsible for adhering to regulatory requirements while improving existing processes, reducing waste, and lowering costs to safely improve patient access to our life-saving therapies.
In this role you will collect, measure, visualize and interpret data across multiple functions that include Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Process Development with the intent of turning data into information, information into insights and insights into informed business decisions.
This role is onsite 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
Develop a comprehensive and deep understanding of data and foster learning using analytical tools and applications to broaden efficiency and data accessibility.
Assess and analyze business requirements and recommend solutions.
Exercise judgment required within confined guidelines.
Partner with decision makers across functional domains to clearly define business & technical problems
Provide technical solutions to moderately complex problems. Solutions are thorough, realistic, and consistent with organization objectives.
Filter and “clean” data within Kite’s enterprise data analytics platform and identify potential enhancements to improve analytical capabilities
Work directly with customers to probe and ask effective questions to fully understand both the problem and desired solution
Cross-train with other focus areas to expand data science knowledge
Interpret data, analyze results and craft engaging narratives around insights derived through the data
Use advanced SQL to develop queries for data stored across multiple tables and databases
Develop regular dashboards in data visualization tools such as AWS QuickSight, Tableau and Spotfire to provide to business stakeholders a means to measure and better manage their respective areas
Effectively work with partitioned data for historical descriptive analytics and data analysis
Uses data patterns & trends to identify root cause of operational gaps and inefficiencies and to collaborate with other functional domains to develop solutions
Contributes to the completion of specific programs, projects or responsible individual business targets.
Organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work activities to meet project deadlines. Identify and documents business processes.
Support the regulated function of the department, understand and perform validation efforts in accordance with established procedure.
Basic Qualifications
Master’s Degree and 2 years relevant experience OR
Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years relevant experience OR
High School Diploma and 11 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced use of AWS QuickSight
BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics/Biostatistics, or Mathematics preferred
Experience in machine learning applications a plus
Advanced use of SQL to develop ad hoc queries for data stored across multiple tables and databases
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Complete understanding and application of statistical methods, principles, theories, machine learning concepts and modern techniques for building data science applications to derive insights from data.
Initiative to develop understanding of gene & cell therapy, its associated manufacturing process coupled with expanding technical knowledge of tools supporting data analytics
Experience working within an AWS environment preferred
Ability to work under general direction, independently determine and develop approach to solutions.
Good communication skills including the ability to work cross-functionally and present data to a variety of audiences
Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this position is: $107,185.00 – $138,710.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
