Overview

As part of NASA’s work to help transform the National Air Space (NAS) there is an ongoing need to accommodate new types of aircraft and missions seeking to use the NAS in non-traditional ways. These aircraft / missions include small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) performing infrastructure inspections and delivering goods, electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) vehicles (both piloted and autonomous) carrying passengers, and High Altitude Long-Endurance (HALE) aircraft providing communications services loitering in the stratosphere. As part of the Extensible Traffic Management (xTM) project, NASA Ames is developing tools and technologies to conduct integrated airspace management research. These capabilities include the Federated Airspace Management Framework (Freddie) facility and the NAS Digital Twin (NDT). The xTM project is seeking a Software / Data Systems Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Software Ops team and will work closely with front-end and back-end developers, researchers, and analysts to architect and implement complex software solutions across Freddie, NDT, Sherlock Data Warehouse, and other platforms.
