Responsibilities
The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine group at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital is seeking a cardiac intensivist to join our growing program. This individual will join a group of 6 physicians and 5 APPs providing 24 / 7 coverage within an 8-bed CVICU and a 14-bed PICU. In collaboration with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital our pediatric cardiac service line is expanding, providing an opportunity for continued program development. The right candidate will have a strong commitment to clinical excellence and quality improvement. They will cooperate with the divisions of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, both at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Clinical service will be within both the CVICU and PICU, weighted more to CVICU. Candidates must be BC / BE in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine with an additional Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship or Cardiology Fellowship, or equivalent experience.

An attached tertiary care, pediatric hospital with 40 private inpatient beds and 8 short stay beds, staffed in-house 24 / 7 by our Pediatric Hospitalist group. PICU / CVICU combined 22-beds staffed 24 / 7 by Pediatric Intensivists. A 17- bed Pediatric Emergency department staffed 24 / 7 by Pediatric Emergency physicians. Indiana’s largest Level IV NICU with 97 beds staffed 24 / 7 by Neonatologists. St. Vincent Children’s Services: recognized nationally for faster access to pediatric specialists and best-in-care outcomes. Through the Peyton Manning Children’s Health system at St. Vincent your family will get faster access to more than 100 highly experienced pediatric specialists. A majority of these physicians are double board certified in pediatrics and in one of 40 different pediatric specialties and multidisciplinary programs.
Responsibilities
Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management. Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients. Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and / or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital. Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested. Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner. Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration: Physician MD / DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Education
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
