Supermicro is looking for a passionate senior network validation engineer in our San Jose office to join our Ethernet switching product management team. In this role, you would work with network switching configuration and deployment, supporting internal and external customers. You’ll work with configuration elements for AI and Storage fabrics including all aspects from physical connectivity to TCP/IP configurations on various network topologies. Your expertise will enable customers to understand the power of our Ethernet switching product line, driving adoption and satisfaction. You will work with cutting-edge technology, providing expert guidance on AI cluster networking. This role supports internal lab and rack teams, outward facing field teams, partners, and key customers by running many new technologies and topologies through the processes of stable system setups. For developing best practices, other industry provider reviews, and demo environments. Responsibilities include product performance during evaluations, competitive and technical gap analysis, and aiding product management in identifying innovations. This critical position offers significant impact potential. The ideal candidate would be able to collaborate with many adjacent internal teams, in providing expert guidance and sharing networking knowledge. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned): Help with short turnaround setups with the latest AI and storage server products Document needed deep hands-on steps and lessons learned in best-practice setup between the switch product line and those elements connecting Work with engineering in identifying product gaps based on competitive analysis and work with the PM to drive enhancements to bridge them Be the domain authority on Supermicro products to help Field Applications Engineers with information on a wide swath of questions Document technical concepts to ensure our products are well understood and utilized to the greatest extent possible Set up and maintain a general purpose networking lab including test harness, competitive products, automation environment, etc. Qualifications
8+ years of deep hands-on network switching knowledge and experience in an IT infrastructure technology preferred (Ethernet, NICs, accelerators/GPUs, HPC, cloud, virtualization/containerization, etc.) Experience with Linux and enterprise operating systems, APIs, and web applications development/product management Strong technical background, technical degree preferred (e.g., BSEE, BSCS) from a 4-year college or university or equivalent experience Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNP or CCDP, Arista ACE, Juniper JNCIx, or others are highly desirable Excellent teamwork and verbal communication skills Eagerness to learn new technologies, experiment with products and collaborate cross-functionally Strong customer advocacy skills and experience, ability to work in difficult customer situations Work towards getting things done, fast learner with strong initiative and sense of ownership Salary Range
