We teach tomorrow's physicians and healthcare professionals to provide excellent medical care with compassion and kindness. Uptown Community Health Center has over 100 associates across , Bruner Family Medicine, Caritas Internal Medicine and Seton Women's Center, Financial Counselors and Administrative Team. Job Summary The Behavioral Health (BH) Director ensures effective and efficient behavioral health services are delivered to patients throughout the Uptown Community Health Center. Provides vision and leadership in the creation and on-going development of Behavioral Health services and associated programs at Uptown Community Health Center. The Behavioral Health (BH) Director provides mental health services at Uptown Community Health Center and ensures that the BH program is providing evidenced-based, high quality care. As part of the primary care treatment team, this position participates in the development of an integrated behavioral health program with primary care, and pharmacy, in addition to supporting behavioral health staff through clinical skill development and supervision / consultation. The BH Director functions as the clinical and administrative leader for the mental health program. They will provide clinical administration and direction to all behavioral health services. This position supports organization-wide leadership, ensuring the success of Uptown Community Health Centers' team-based care and patient centered medical home efforts. The BH Director represents Uptown Community Health Center in the broader health care community. This position is allocated .5 clinical FTE and .5 administrative FTE. Essential Functions Upholds the Mission, Vision, and Values of Uptown Community Health Center. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to organization standards, policies, and procedures, and to legal regulations; alerting others with potential concerns. Communicates in a professional, clear, effective, and compassionate way with patients, visitors, and coworkers. Both in person, on the telephone, and with written communication. Develops, oversees, and continuously evaluates the scope of behavioral health services offered for maximization of patient impact, fiscal viability, and best practice. Collaborates with clinical staff and other department members to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of integrated behavioral health services. Establishes, develops, and enhances the relationships with behavioral health agencies in the service area. Ensures legal and ethical compliance of behavioral health services. Oversees Medication Assisted Treatment and substance use disorder services. Supervises daily operations for their department. Provides initial and ongoing education to the department on company principles, mission, vision, and values and UCHC culture. Establishes performance expectations, including setting clear performance expectations for role and employee that differentiates levels of performance, completes timely, honest performance reviews on staff, is able to distinguish key performers and recognizes the appropriately. Demonstrates the ability to coach and direct employees toward established goals. Participates in the resident physician education program. Develops and maintains goodwill and working relationships with all departments of the Health Center to promote operational efficiency. Documents properly and accurately within the electronic medical record : recording patient examination, treatment, and test results. Maintains patient confidentiality and protects medical office operations by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches. Attends required staff meetings, standard work meetings, trainings, and Spring Fling. Other Duties as Assigned Licensure / Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Active, unrestricted licensure in Colorado required (licensed psychologist) Qualifications and Experience Required : Master's or Doctoral Degree from an accredited institution and active in counseling, psychology, OR clinical social work Minimum two years of program management and leadership experience Minimum four years of clinical service experience Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado Preferred : Five years of experience in a healthcare organization Competency in providing substance use disorder (SUD) treatment Experience with Epic application and health record Experience and understanding of Microsoft Office Experience working with and sensitivity toward special populations, including those with limited income, limited education, and non-English speaking individuals Bilingual English / Spanish - complete comprehension, literacy, and fluency in both languages
