Legal Counsel - Employment , joining our Legal Team as an Employment Law Counsel. We are looking for a talented employment lawyer who can help with our team’s mission: supercharging our business through excellent legal advice and solid legal processes.
Remote’s well-established Legal team is composed of friendly, talented lawyers from many countries with diverse experiences. The Employment Legal Team principally supports:
Our Employee Lifecycle team in their support regarding external employees globally
Our People team in managing internal employees globally and ensuring compliance across jurisdictions
Our wider Legal Team in dealing with global employment issues (advisory and contentious disputes, i.e. litigation and arbitration)
What you bring
Experience as a UK or Ireland employment lawyer post-qualification
Experience in advisory and litigation employment law work including the entire employee lifecycle (recruitment, HR policies, benefits, and terminations)
Interest in working for a tech-scaleup and specifically HR-tech
Keen to understand a range of international employment law challenges
Ability to learn and master Remote's communication application (Slack), contract management system (Juro), documentation sources (Notion, Google Drive), and task management system (KissFlow)
Fluent English; strong knowledge of another language is an advantage
Ideally both law firm and in-house experience, but not strictly required
Ideally international employment experience, but not strictly required – willingness to learn and handle international issues is required
Remote work experience is not required but considered a plus
Responsibilities
Take ownership of employment legal work for the jurisdiction(s) where you are qualified, with a focus on the UK, Ireland, and broader EMEA region
Support the Employment Legal Team on global jurisdictions as needed, including managing or contributing to internal projects and instructing local counsels
Help improve processes, templates and knowledge resources
Promote a compliance-focused approach in all activities
Provide solutions rather than escalating problems

Remote Compensation Philosophy Remote's compensation philosophy is to ensure fair, unbiased compensation and fair equity pay along with competitive benefits in all locations. We aim to pay above in-location rates and encourage global talent-hiring and local wealth creation. Salary bands are geo-based and may span multiple career levels. Actual base pay is determined by location, skills, experience, training, business needs and market demands; the range may change over time.
The annual salary range for this full-time position is $43,500 — $97,900 USD.
