Director of Culinary Services - Full Time
The following describes the responsibilities, prerequisites, and benefits for the Director of Culinary Services at Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Haverhill, MA.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervises food preparation and service and maintains standards of operation
Oversees maintenance of records: meal selection, menus, diet census, diets served and weekly staffing
Responsible for providing and supervising high quality food service to patients as well as evaluating departmental goals and objectives to assure compliance with appropriate regulations
Responsible for inventory and placing food orders
Manages the functions of patient meals as well as in-house Bistro
Approves staff timecards weekly
Completes staff evaluations in a timely manner
Fills in as chef if needed
Prerequisites:
High School degree and graduate of state approved course that provides 90 hours or more classroom instructions in Food Service Management, Nutrition and Sanitation or any Bachelor's degree with 90 hours of state approved courses or an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Restaurant Management or Culinary Arts.
3-5 years working as a chef/cook
2-4 years working in a supervisory role
Culinary experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Serve Safe certification
