Physiatrist / Physical Medicine & Rehab Physician Paterson NJ
— FT or PT
We are looking for a BC/BE Physiatrist/PM&R Physician to join our Physiatry run team in Paterson, NJ. Our physicians work in SNF settings providing consultation and follow‑up care. We collaborate closely with our patients, their families, rehab staff, physicians, and hospital system population‑health teams. Our commitment is to provide excellent physiatric care by serving our patients, their families, and our client facilities. Our practice philosophy emphasizes a strong presence in our facilities to meet patient needs and to collaborate with all involved in the continuum of care. We aim to be leaders in physiatry for post‑acute care.
We are flexible in our need and can accommodate a Physiatrist seeking either part-time or full-time work.
Job Responsibilities
New consultation requests. Perform appropriate physiatric consultations and follow-up care throughout the rehabilitation stay.
Round on post-acute care patients twice a week or more when medically necessary; track patient progress, remove obstacles to functional progress, and improve quality of life.
Manage caseload by maintaining awareness of all referral sources and potential new referrals; maintain an active patient list and diligently capture referrals.
Engage with clinical staff and maintain professional, collegial relationships with facility physicians, caregivers, administrators, and directors.
Communicate clearly with patients and families; set expectations regarding treatment options and procedures; coordinate with facility, patients, and families.
Attend facility rehab team meetings.
Documentation: follow protocol for documentation, billing, and coding.
Meet regularly with facility leadership to understand needs, build relationships, and report updates to leadership.
Collaborate with other treating physicians and physician assistants (e.g., PCPs, Orthopedists).
Requirements
Unrestricted NJ Medical License, CDS, DEA
Board Certified or Board Eligible in PM&R
Stay current annually with ABPMR and NJBME licensing & certification requirements
Schedule
Full time or part time (Full time is 4 days per week)
Compensation (range)
250k–$300k, depending on caseload desired (Full time with bonus potential)
