The Imaging Services/Radiology departments provide diagnostic imaging services for inpatients and outpatients, 24/7. Responsibilities include and are not limited to diagnostic radiography, computed tomography, tela-radiography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasonography. As an Imaging Specialist, you will: Capture high-quality images of patientsB9 internal structures to aid in diagnosis and treatment Operate imaging equipment (X-Ray machines, CT scanners, MRI machines, ultrasound devices) Demonstrate attentiveness to detail and collaborate with other departments Report to the Regional Director of Imaging (position no. 20896 or designee) Schedule demands include rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, standby, and call back duty; services are provided 24/7. Minimum Qualifications Requirements
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements. Education, licensure, certification, and experience requirements vary by position level. All applicants must provide evidence of applicable education, licenses, and certifications. Education : BachelorB1s degree from an approved program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Excess work experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis; experience must be of a scope/quality to provide comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities. Licensure : Current State of HawaiB1 Radiologic Technologist license as a radiographer. Current, active type# 3 driverB1s license preferred. Certification : Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Workers (American Heart Association). Additional certification requirements as specified per level. Experience : See position-level requirements below. Knowledge & Abilities Knowledge: Imaging equipment operation, radiation safety, departmental policies, standards, and regulatory requirements; basic Cross Sectional Anatomy; ability to work independently and follow procedures. Ability: Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, instruct others as needed, apply imaging techniques, maintain records, interpret policies, and supervise as needed; establish cooperative working relationships. IMAGING SPECIALIST II (X-RAY) Experience: Six (6) months of progressively responsible professional imaging technologist/specialist experience with imaging procedures such as chest, skull, GI tract, urinary tract, and vascular systems. Certifications: Current ARRT (R) in Radiography. IMAGING SPECIALIST III (X-RAY & COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY) Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible professional imaging experience; one-half (1/2) year of CT specialization in a clinical/hospital environment. Certifications: Current ARRT (R) in Radiography. Education/Substitution: BachelorB1s degree preferred; substitution rules apply as described. IMAGING SPECIALIST IV (X-RAY & COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY) Experience: 1.5 years imaging experience with cross-sectional procedures; 1 year CT specialization. Certifications: ARRT CT certification (advanced). IMAGING MULTI-MODALITY SPECIALIST (GENERAL, ULTRASOUND, ECHO) Experience: 1 year as Ultrasonographer and 1 year as Echo Tech performing diagnostic cardiac exams; 3 years total with at least 1 year in two modalities (ultrasound and echocardiography). Certifications: ARDMS RDCS and RDMS. *CB For all positions: supervisory aptitude is considered where applicable, demonstrated via assignments or training in supervisory functions.
