A leading nuclear energy company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Commercial Contracts Attorney
to join its in-house legal team at their Washington DC or Austin, TX office. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for attorneys with
4-15 years
of experience. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex commercial agreements and support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment focused on clean energy innovation. Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including: Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), EPC contracts, O&M agreements, Supply and procurement contracts, NDAs, MOUs, and service agreements Advise internal teams including development, operations, procurement, and finance. Support contract lifecycle management and implementation of contract tools. Collaborate with outside counsel as needed. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local energy laws and regulations. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes. Assist with internal audits and risk assessments related to contract obligations. Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar. In-house experience at an energy company or law firm experience with energy clients strongly preferred. Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with nuclear energy project development and/or construction contracts. Familiarity with NRC, DOE, or other nuclear-related regulatory frameworks. Experience with international contracts or cross-border transactions is a plus.
