Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing requirements may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the initial appointment requirements are deemed to have met the basic requirements. Basic Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens are unavailable, in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent from an approved school. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Residency Training: Completion of residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies include those by ACGME, AOA, or other recognized programs with verified practice experience in the U.S. Residents in ACGME/AOA-accredited programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and are appointed on an intermittent or fee basis. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience: Board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology; fellowship training in Body Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, or MRI imaging is favorable. Join a team at the Kent Imaging and Infusion Center, part of VANEOHS Imaging Service, with opportunities to work with state-of-the-art imaging equipment (CT, MR, US, NM). Support veterans and technologists onsite, with potential for remote work depending on meeting requirements. Balance workload via shared worklists; up to 25% travel may be required. Perform oversight of quality and safety, including review of exam requests, protocol prescription, image quality oversight, and safety practices. Interpret imaging exams, generate reports with findings, and support patient care with timely communication. Participate in clinical conferences, coordinate patient care, and engage in medical staff functions.
