Additional Job Description: WVUHS Medical Group seeks an Orthopedic Trauma Physician. The successful candidate will primarily practice in Martinsburg, WV.
Responsibilities:
Practice in orthopedic trauma, offering diagnosis, treatment, and surgery of the musculoskeletal system, alongside WVU Medicine's orthopedic and sports medicine providers.
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent, eligibility for state medical license, completion of an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency and Orthopedic Trauma fellowship, and board certification/eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Berkeley Medical Center, a 195-bed non-profit acute care hospital, offers comprehensive radiology, wound care, NICU, ICU, oncology, neurosurgery, and Cardiac Cath Lab services. Recent expansions include new outpatient and main hospital operating rooms focused on robotics, orthopedics, and vascular health.
Located in the Eastern Panhandle, just over an hour from Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, MD, it offers a rural atmosphere, lower cost of living, and easy access to major cities. The area is experiencing growth due to an influx of professionals from nearby urban centers.
The WVU Health System, with over 2,700 beds and more than 20 hospitals including a children's hospital and five institutes, is West Virginia's largest health system, anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown.
