Schedule: Monday – Friday; some Weekends and Holidays Rate of Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 Annually The Director of the AmeriCorps State Program is responsible for leading the strategic, operational, and administrative management of a State of Alabama grant-funded AmeriCorps program. This includes full oversight of program planning, implementation, compliance, reporting, budget administration, and partnership development. The Director ensures that all program activities align with AmeriCorps federal regulations, Serve Alabama requirements, and the organization’s mission. Grant-funded position

from Serve Alabama and AmeriCorps. Primary Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership for the AmeriCorps program to achieve service goals and performance measures outlined in the State of Alabama grant. Develop, implement, and continuously improve program plans, service models, member activities, and community partnerships. Supervise AmeriCorps program staff and provide leadership development and training support. Serve as the lead grant manager for the AmeriCorps State program, ensuring strict adherence to Serve Alabama and AmeriCorps (CNCS) rules, policies, and timelines. Prepare and submit required documents including performance reports, budgets, member enrollment and exit data, timekeeping records, and evaluations. Maintain documentation and records for potential site visits or audits by state and federal monitors. Collaborate with finance staff to manage the AmeriCorps grant budget, including match funds and allowable expenditures. Monitor spending and ensure timely use of funds in accordance with grant terms and Uniform Guidance. Submit reimbursement requests and financial reports to Serve Alabama. Oversee the full AmeriCorps member lifecycle: recruitment, selection, enrollment, orientation, training, supervision, evaluations, and exit. Ensure member activities align with approved service objectives and performance measures. Uphold member support systems including conflict resolution, professional development, and AmeriCorps identity building. Maintain strong working relationships with host sites, service partners, schools, and community-based organizations. Represent the program to Serve Alabama, local government, national service networks, and the broader public. Coordinate with stakeholders to identify evolving community needs and service opportunities. Collect, analyze, and report data related to member service, outputs, and outcomes. Oversee program monitoring systems to ensure accuracy and compliance. Use data for continuous program improvement and impact reporting. Qualifications

Prior AmeriCorps service or professional experience with Serve Alabama-funded programs. Bachelor’s degree in public administration, nonprofit management, education, or related field. At least 2–5 years of experience managing state or federal grants, preferably AmeriCorps or similar national service or volunteer programs. Knowledge of performance measure development and program evaluation practices. Familiarity with Alabama’s community development, education, public health, or workforce systems. Knowledge of AmeriCorps regulations, federal grant compliance, and Uniform Administrative Requirements. Experience supervising staff or AmeriCorps members in a community service or education setting. Excellent organizational, communication (both written and verbal), and leadership skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher), database systems (e.g., e-grants, On Corps), and virtual communication platforms. Internet browsing and E-mail usage; Strong commitment to service; former AmeriCorps Team Leader or former member with capacity to serve as a Team Leader preferred Must successfully complete a criminal background check and drug test in accordance with AmeriCorps regulations.
