The Director of Engineering will lead and develop an engineering team to deliver world-class custom and configured building products. This role is responsible for R&D engineering, product continuation engineering, design-for-manufacturing, process improvement, post-sale support, and technical leadership. The Director will partner with sales, product management, manufacturing, and supply chain to support both customer needs and company growth objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leadership & Vision Provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership for the engineering function. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Develop and mentor a high-performing engineering team. Engineering & Technical Oversight Oversee product design, prototyping, and validation for custom and configured products. Ensure designs meet performance, cost, safety, and manufacturability standards. Drive standardization and modular design practices where applicable. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sales on quoting, feasibility reviews, and customer technical support. Collaborate with Manufacturing on process optimization, tooling, and quality improvements. Work with Supply Chain to identify cost-effective materials and suppliers. Operational Excellence Implement engineering best practices, tools, and systems to raise efficiency and accuracy. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering output and quality. Support continuous improvement projects that drive throughput, quality, and cost reduction. Business Impact Align engineering priorities with company strategy to support profitable growth. Contribute to strategic planning, technology roadmaps, and capital investment decisions. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven expertise in sheet metal design, fabrication, and manufacturing processes. Strong background in CAD, ERP/MRP systems, and design-for-manufacturing principles. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and driving measurable improvements. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on technical engagement. OPPORTUNITY
