Position Overview
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $96,000-144,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range applies to candidates located within the United States. Salary ranges are determined by roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Role and Responsibilities
Schneider Electric Consulting Services is seeking a qualified Power System Engineer. The engineer is responsible for leading and executing power system engineering studies for clients nationwide. You will collaborate with project management to ensure work meets specifications and customer needs, and is completed within the project timeline and budget. Most projects are office-based, with some onsite data collection requiring travel and adherence to safety policies. You will develop relationships with key customers to become a trusted advisor and drive incremental business. You will learn and grow in abilities in power system studies, including analyses such as short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, voltage drop, and harmonics. Growth areas include digital relay protection and control, equipment assessments, and power quality assessments. You will have opportunities to expand skills and ensure solutions are technically sound and meet national regulatory standards. Typical Responsibilities: Executes projects or leads project execution Develops and maintains own technical and commercial proficiency of Consulting offers Maintains the relationship with key customers (internal and external) Qualifications
BSEE Five years’ experience in power systems Excellent communication skills (oral and written) Ability to quickly establish trust of clients in a consulting role Willingness to collaborate to ensure success of team EIT/FE (PE a plus) Competencies
Power system analysis including short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash Proficiency in modeling electrical systems in software such as ETAP, SKM, Easypower Report writing National Electrical Code LV cable and transformer protection Ability to analyze and interpret engineering documents, codes and standards, technical procedures Safety conscious Situational awareness, listening, problem-solving skills Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to assist others in understanding project objectives and specifications Cool, calm, and collected under pressure Able to address project details while maintaining the big picture Anticipates and communicates project risks and implements mitigation strategies Collaborative and influential communication style Ambitious, quick, and assertive Ability to develop project scope and identify project risks ESTIMATED TRAVEL: 25% Additional Information
