Job Title: Senior Manager, Finance Job Code: 28634 Job Location: Herndon, VA Schedule: 9/80 Every other Friday off Position is based in Herndon, VA. Responsibilities
Partner and consult with the General Manager of the business area, requiring latitude in exercising independent judgment and analysis to impact profits, working capital, cash flows, and financial position, while working without close supervision. Analyze, review, and present all facets of the business, including revenue, pricing, forecasting, and take actions to improve margins and net profit for every element of the business. Maintain working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVMS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Manage overall Estimates at Completion (EACs) and profit impacts. Develop and present ad hoc analyses and reports to support Program Management Team and Senior Management. Establish and ensure compliance with financial policies, practices, and procedures at operating sites. Establish appropriate business controls to foster a results-focused decision-making environment. Manage cash and treasury matters. Ensure solid program and product line financial performance through early identification of operational issues and implementation of containment methods. Contribute financial and general management expertise to the division’s leadership team. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or closely related discipline with a minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in general financial management, including general accounting, cost accounting and taxes, preferably in a commercial manufacturing environment. Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or closely related discipline with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in general financial management; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. Experience with Federal Government contracting requirements - Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR), Defense Acquisition Regulations (DAR), and International Transfer of Arms Regulations (ITAR) required. Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project), Hyperion HFM/Planning, and SAP ERP software is a plus. Detailed understanding of ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers. Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage projects, lead and evaluate personnel, and solve problems creatively. Demonstrated ability as a strategic thinker with experience developing plans for short- and long-term results. Willingness to take ownership, accept accountability, and thrive under pressure. Proven ability to interact with and influence team members at all organizational levels and to manage upward and downward. Note: This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance.
