Principal Data Architect
to join our client’s team. The Principal Data Architect is a highly technical, hands-on, and visionary leader who will shape the foundation of our client’s next-generation Data & AI ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, responsible for defining enterprise-wide data architecture and delivering intelligent, scalable, and secure data solutions across the client and its partners. As a
Snowflake expert , you will play a pivotal role in architecting and optimizing the platform to support petabyte-scale workloads, governed data products, self-service BI, and AI/ML enablement. You’ll collaborate closely with technical teams and business stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to translate strategic priorities into future-ready architecture patterns that promote interoperability, reusability, and enterprise-wide scalability. This is more than an architecture role; it’s a rare opportunity to build from the ground up, modernize data foundation, and directly shape how data drives decisions, operations, and innovation across the organization. Job Responsibilities
Serve as a data champion, promoting best practices in data management, architecture, and governance to elevate data literacy and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making. Lead the design and implementation of a modern data platform, including enterprise data models, integration patterns, and lifecycle governance frameworks. Provide deep technical expertise in Snowflake, with a focus on architecture design, workload optimization, resource governance, and platform automation. Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to translate strategic priorities into scalable, future-ready architectural solutions. Define and enforce standards for data modeling (OLTP & OLAP), metadata management, access controls, cost optimization, and data lifecycle management. Optimize the data ecosystem by eliminating redundancy, improving data quality, and enhancing accessibility across the enterprise. Champion reuse, standardization, and interoperability to minimize technology fragmentation and support long-term scalability. Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies (e.g., real-time data processing, AI/ML enablement, data observability) to shape platform strategy and inform future investments. Lead Data Architecture Community of Practice, fostering innovation, knowledge sharing, and consistency across teams. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or platform roles, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead capacity. Proven expertise (5+ years experience) in designing and deploying enterprise-grade Snowflake environments, including performance tuning, security, and cost optimization. Deep experience with data warehousing, data lakes/lakehouses, integration patterns (CDC, API, batch, and streaming ingestion), and modern ELT/ETL frameworks. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value. Experience architecting cloud-native solutions on AWS, particularly within the data and analytics stack. Deep expertise in data modeling to support a wide range of consumption use cases, including analytics, BI reporting, and machine learning. Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and tools such as dbt, Airflow, or equivalent. Familiarity with GitOps and CI/CD workflows in a modern data platform context. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, MLOps practices, or real-time streaming architectures. Experience with data catalogs, governance platforms, or data product ownership frameworks. Seniority level
