This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to the Austin Innovation Technical Center three times per week, at minimum, or more frequently based on business needs. Role

The Vehicle Data Engineering team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to help develop vehicle data processing, storage, and retrieval systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data processing and streaming, develops scalable APIs for efficient data access, and will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and APIs ensuring seamless data integration and accessibility across the organization. What You’ll Do

Design and implement changes to an existing system for aggregating and sending tens of millions of emails per month. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the Vehicle health Domain. Ensure data integrity, security, and performance optimization of applications within the Vehicle health Domain. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and team members. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data management and streaming technologies. Use advanced analytical and problem-solving techniques to resolve a wide range of non-standard problems. Work independently with minimal guidance and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Skills & Abilities

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience. 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on data engineering; proficiency in Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Quarkus). Minimum of 5 years of experience with streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark). 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes. Proven cloud experience with at least one cloud platform (Microsoft Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also acceptable). Experience in Python and PySpark preferred. Strong understanding of CI/CD practices. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree or Ph.D. Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies—AKS, Cosmos DB, Event Hubs, ADX. Familiarity with Machine Learning. Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is $143,000 – $219,400. Actual base compensation will vary based on factors relevant to the position. Bonus potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
