Overview Early Career Remediation Engineer or Geologist position in our environmental sciences and engineering practice in Oak Brook or Chicago, IL. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, construction quality assurance and oversight, and remediation system O&M;

Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;

Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;

Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;

Aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analyses;

Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and

Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Education and Licensure

Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology or related field (required)

Advanced degree in the same (preferred)

Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, if applicable (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Prior internship experience in environmental consulting (valued)

Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation (preferred)

Technical experience in geology, geotechnical, environmental, or related disciplines (preferred)

Experience with construction work such as plumbing, electrical, structural, geotechnical, or mechanical tasks (valued)

Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software; AutoCAD and/or GIS (preferred)

Excellent writing and communication skills (required)

Regular field work and overnight travel (required)

Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required)

Valid U.S. driver\'s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Compensation ranges are provided for the Oak Brook/Chicago, IL area and reflect good faith estimates at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location. The typical base salary range for this position is a component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. In addition to base pay, Geosyntec offers benefits including holidays, vacation, sick and personal paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401(k), and other benefits to eligible employees.
