Overview
Network Security Engineer. Position type: Full Time Contract. Duration: 12 Months. Location: Manassas, VA (Hybrid). Responsibilities
Work alongside a dynamic team of network engineers responsible for the design, optimization, deployment and support of the Network Firewalls and security aspects. The Agile team engages in product evolution, covering network architecture and design, development, configuration, quality assurance, security, operations, and IT infrastructure aspects. Work in an international environment with hubs across three continents, with global reach and impact in a fast-moving, smaller company setting. Expand knowledge, network and expertise through the client’s global platform. Design, develop, test, configure, upgrade and maintain Fortinet and Checkpoint Firewalls with virtual instances in line with agreed requirements. Implement and operate security solutions with the team; deploy infrastructure and network software according to change management processes. Collaborate with internal and external customers following DevOps/Agile principles and best practices. Develop and maintain technical documentation; interact with other teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Focus on continuous improvement by automating, educating and sharing knowledge transparently. Contribute to DevOps/agile practices and ongoing product roadmap evolution. Required technical skills
Hands-on experience with Fortinet and Checkpoint Firewalls or similar technologies Hands-on experience with firewall management platforms FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, Checkpoint Smart-1 Familiarity with security policy management tools like Algosec Security Management System Familiarity with SD-WAN and Zero Trust Ability to troubleshoot complex network flows, interconnectivity, performance and configuration issues Provisions/executes firewall requests in accordance with security policies and standards across environments Familiarity with Zero Touch/Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Scripting in Shell, Python or Perl Desired technical skills
Certifications in Fortinet FCP/FCSS, Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, Cisco CCNA Experience with daily/weekly firewall rule-base management Ability to contribute to Firewall product roadmap/evolution and deployments Ability to independently deploy infrastructure from High Level Design to Deployment Identify problems in network and workflows and assist with remediation; automate routine tasks where possible Experience evaluating new network technologies Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow Knowledge/experience operating in Linux Compensation and benefits
Pay Range:
$75/hr - $80/hr Benefits:
