Budget/Business Analyst

to support the Finance Department. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Participate with the principal investigator in preparing administrative components of proposals, ensuring compliance with sponsored and non-sponsored research guidelines. Oversee and communicate the submission process, both paper and electronic, and review documents for completeness and compliance. Develop, prepare, and finalize project budgets, including providing budget justification. Serve as the primary liaison between principal investigators, the Office of Sponsored Research, research groups, and other departments. Respond to sponsor inquiries. Collaborate with the Office of Sponsored Research to ensure proper setup of awards and fulfillment of cost-sharing requirements. Initiate cost transfers as needed. Review and approve expenditures, advise on post-award spending and commitments, and oversee compliance related to funds and revenue. Develop and communicate reports on project status, create effective forecasts, and decision aids. Participate in the contract closeout process, submit final reports and certificates, and gather information and documents for audit inquiries. Understand, apply, and advise on university and government policies for projects. Serve as a resource on subject matter and provide technical guidance to principal investigators and university staff. Participate in process improvements and lead group projects involving other staff members. The hourly rate range for this position is

$34.43 - $43.93 .
