Commercial Account Manager – Pharmacy Benefit PBM / GPO (Field Based)

Overview
The Commercial Account Manager (CAM) is responsible for developing strategically targeted, Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) downstream account specific business lines, and aggressively implementing organizational (pricing, revenue pull through, access) and territory plans with a bias for maximizing resources including time, money and return on investment. Efforts focus on ensuring health care providers and patients have unimpeded access to our products and services by educating payors, influencing their prescribing decisions and perceptions of the value Insulet provides, and our competitive position relative to alternatives. The CAM is expected to earn the support of customers as a trusted business advisor. Success is reflected by key payor stakeholders accepting and implementing versions of the CAM’s recommendations. The CAM will have a deep understanding of territory-related issues, broad knowledge of the evolving healthcare landscape, and will develop detailed strategic plans aligned with the organization’s long- and short-term goals. This role will support PBM-Lead GPOs & Medication Contracting Organizations, i.e. Ascent Health Services (UnitedHealth Group), CVS Health / Zinc Health Services, OptumRx / Emisar Pharma Services.
Responsibilities: Ability to develop contacts and relationships throughout assigned GPO downstream payers at operational, strategic and executive levels, and to influence these players to drive specific business objectives. Partner with Sales and Sales Leadership to identify key payer pull/push through opportunities and utilize prescription volume to establish goals to grow plan market share of those payers regarding coverage, adoption, reducing cycle times, and account/market specific opportunities/challenges. Skillfully navigate the concepts and complexities within the Managed Care environment. Invest time to maintain an in-depth understanding of the Managed Care business as it relates to the CAM’s territory and local market; demonstrate understanding of diabetes disease and the community. Strive for excellence in performance and commit to continuous self-evaluation and development. Contribute to the organization, peers, and customers’ needs beyond sales/revenue production. Provide information critical to accomplishing Insulet’s mission to colleagues in Managed Care, Contracting, Sales and Sales Leadership teams. Provide feedback to individuals to enable effective decisions at National, Regional, and area levels. Establish relationships with key payer stakeholders and related influence groups that impact access to our assay for healthcare providers and patients. Performs other duties as required. Education and Experience: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical and/or medical device sales and 3rd party reimbursement procedures Related business experience working with managed markets, formularies, third-party adjudication and managed markets (MCO, Hospital, Private Insurance). Experience calling on and developing relationships with key contacts in managed markets and third-party payors. Preferred Skills and Competencies: In-depth understanding of health insurance systems such as pharmacy UM, contracting and claims adjudication. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to prioritize and drive for results with an emphasis on quality. Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at multiple levels of an organization. Ability to provide and analyze performance-driven data. Ability to organize and judge priorities. Ability to generate and maintain accurate records. Strong computer proficiency and experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Physical Requirements Physical Requirements (if applicable): Travel up to 50% as required #LI-Remote Additional Information: The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,200.00 - $213,300.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
