Base pay range
$90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr The ideal candidate is both a strong executor and thoughtful leader—someone who can bring structure and clarity to evolving people practices, while remaining adaptable in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities: HR Policy & Compliance:
Develop, implement, and regularly update HR policies and procedures in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations. People Operations Leadership:
Oversee all facets of HR operations, including hiring processes, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and workforce analytics. Employee Lifecycle Management:
Manage end-to-end employee experiences, ensuring seamless transitions from onboarding to offboarding. Vendor & PEO Management:
Serve as the primary liaison for third-party HR vendors or PEOs, overseeing benefits, payroll, and compliance coordination. Payroll Support:
Collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including validation of PTO, hours, and deductions. Compensation & Benefits:
Develop and maintain competitive total rewards strategies, including compensation benchmarking and benefits program design. Employee Relations:
Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting investigations and resolving conflicts in collaboration with legal or compliance partners as needed. Performance & Development:
Lead performance management, goal setting, and career development efforts; contribute to succession planning initiatives. Data & Reporting:
Own HR data tracking and analysis, including key metrics such as turnover, engagement, and compensation ratios; manage the HR/People Ops budget. Strategic HR Advisory:
Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and change management initiatives. Global Team Collaboration:
Coordinate with distributed teams using tools such as HRIS, ATS, Slack, and Zoom to support remote or global operations. Culture & Engagement:
Foster a strong, inclusive culture by leading engagement initiatives, pulse surveys, employee recognition programs, and internal communications. Talent Acquisition Partnership:
Collaborate with internal or external recruiters to align on hiring plans, streamline processes, and enhance candidate experience. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred. 5+ years of progressive experience in HR or People Operations roles. Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to lead and scale HR processes in fast-paced, growing organizations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills. High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information. Proficient in HRIS platforms and tools and Microsoft Office Suite. This role will be onsite 5x a week in Chicago. Seniority level
