We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee safety operations for our client in Lemont, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in construction safety. Project scope and schedule

The position requires a split-shift schedule totaling 40 hours per week under normal operating conditions. During turnaround periods (up to two months), the schedule will increase by an additional 16 hours per week. Schedule: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday to Friday to start; shift may move to overtime during turnaround. Key responsibilities

Monitor hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) levels in the field. Conduct asbestos assessments in accordance with regulatory standards. Evaluate lead abatement processes for compliance and effectiveness. Review Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for chemical hazards and perform related field monitoring activities. Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations; provide safety training as needed. Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety protocols; review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence; perform additional EHS-related tasks as required. Qualifications

Experience in both Industrial Hygiene and Building Sciences. Refinery experience is required. Skills and knowledge

Excellent public speaking and communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Strong organizational and multitasking skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team. OSHA outreach training experience (preferred). Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information. Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction; ability to communicate safety principles and regulations. Equal Opportunity
