Base pay range
$140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Insight Global Required Skills & Experience 2-3 years of experience as a Director or Assistant Director of Finance specifically in a school/education environment. Current School Business Official (SBO) License required. BS in Finance or Accounting required. Proficiency in Munis (Tyler Enterprise ERP). Proficiency in Excel with advanced skills including Pivot Tables, Vlookups, Expansive Spreadsheets Experienced creating/overseeing budgets of around $50mm Excellent communicator with the ability to be direct and take feedback Job Description Insight Global is working to identify a Director of Finance to join the team of an education client in the Greater Boston, MA area. This individual will be responsible for creating and overseeing a $60mm+ budget within the school district. They will also support all intergovernmental operations and business office functions, ensuring maximum support for the education program in alignment with the school and related parties. An overview of the essential responsibilities can be found below: Direct all fiscal operations: budgeting, accounting, financial reporting (local/state/federal). Prepare and administer the school budget per established timelines. Present budget to staff, School Committee, public, and Town Agencies with supporting data. Provide monthly financial reports and highlight variances. Manage expenditures within budget guidelines. Reallocate resources in consultation with the Superintendent. Supervise business and payroll offices (invoices, warrants, payroll). Oversee procurement cycle to reduce administrative burden on educators. Supervise Transportation and Food Services departments via support personnel. Lead workshops on budget planning and administration for staff and administrators. Support long-range school improvements and capital projects. Develop fiscal projections and tax impact statements. Collaborate with Town Capital Improvement Plan Committee. Serve as fiscal agent for all grants (federal, state, private). Review and approve grant budgets and contracts. Ensure compliance with grant terms and audit requirements. Liaise with Town Managers (Building, Public Works, Health, Planning, Engineering). Ensure compliance with public bidding laws. Manage legal contracts in consultation with School Counsel. Support HR Director and School Committee in union negotiations. Prepare and submit financial reports (state, federal, town). Serve as liaison to external agencies on finance and administration matters. Seniority level
