Overview
MANAGING DIRECTOR – INVESTMENT BANKING We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Managing Director to grow our middle-market presence in Illinois, Florida, Arizona and Texas. Primary responsibilities include originating and leading the execution of M&A advisory and capital raising transactions. This professional will have strong marketing skills, a broad network within a specific industry, and a strong referral network from which to generate new business for the firm. While our headquarters is in Chicago, the location of this Managing Director is flexible. Please note: applicants should be currently registered with FINRA. A list of relevant completed M&A transactions and active FINRA licenses should be provided at application.
Responsibilities
Deal Execution Responsibilities Lead deal teams on a variety of transactions from initial client pitch to transaction closing Manage day-to-day aspects of client relationships, transactions, and investment banking teams and serve as primary client contact on engagements Provide leadership, professional development and mentoring for junior staff Business Development Responsibilities Actively pursue business development opportunities and originate new client engagements for the firm within selected industry sector Develop prospect and referral networks and support firm efforts in developing and executing business development and marketing strategies Maintain deep knowledge and expertise in an industry sector Participate in key industry conferences, speaking opportunities, and marketing efforts to generate exposure and promote the firm Qualifications
Fifteen-plus years of experience at a boutique or regional investment bank Proven track record of new business development and originating and closing investment banking engagements Established relationships with private equity firms, middle market businesses, and referral sources Deep knowledge, expertise, and transaction history within a specific industry Experience managing day-to-day aspects of client relationships, transactions, and investment banking teams Understanding of capital advisory services and the M&A process, complex transactions, and deal structuring and negotiation Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to contribute to the firm’s long-term growth Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred FINRA Series 7 or 79 required Seniority level Executive Employment type Full-time Job function Finance, Business Development, and Management Industries Investment Banking and Financial Services
